I graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a B.S. in microbiology and life sciences communication (LSC) in 2024. Before reaching this milestone, I explored various student organizations, eventually finding The Badger Herald in the spring of my sophomore year, and was thrust into the world of student journalism. Despite having no prior experience, I adapted swiftly, progressing from Copy Associate to Science News Associate Editor to Science News Editor within a year.

From there, I began to dive deeper into the waves of science writing. I wrote about computer science for the Center for High Throughput Computing, created promotional content for the LSC Department, and finally, accepted an editorial internship with RVO Health (owner of Healthline Media), the summer going into my senior year.

My interest in health communication grew from the stories I wrote and edited for The Herald. As an RVOH intern, my fondness for the health sphere deepened alongside my knowledge base. After a summer of learning what it takes to run a highly trusted health information site, I knew I couldn't turn down the full-time return position they offered at the end of the internship.

My senior year —still Science News Editor — came and went. In July, I picked up mostly where I left off at Healthline, but this time with the title of Associate Editor. I currently hold this position.
