I graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a B.S. in microbiology and life sciences communication (LSC) in 2024. Before reaching this milestone, I came across The Badger Herald and was thrust into the world of student journalism. Despite having no prior journalistic experience, I adapted swiftly, progressing from Copy Associate to Science News Associate Editor to Science News Editor within a year.
I continued to dive deeper into science communication, writing about research computing for the Center for High Throughput Computing and happenings in the LSC Department. I accepted an editorial internship with Healthline Media the summer going into my senior year. My interest in and fondness for science communication grew from my time with The Herald; as an intern, it grew even more.
Following my graduation, I returned to Healthline full-time and worked on articles, newsletters, Daily Dose lessons, and more. After nearly 2 years, I was ready for a new challenge, and so I joined The Health & Wellness Partners Group as an associate medical editor, where I currently work.
